S.K.V. HERCULES – CrossFit Twente University
Studenten Krachtsport Vereniging (S.K.V.) Hercules – CrossFit Twente University is the only student sport association in The Netherlands that offers CrossFit on a large scale, on a unique location (a former church!).
As a Hercules trainer founded CrossFit Twente in 2009, the box is one of the earliest CrossFit gyms in The Netherlands. Before that (since 2001) Hercules was primarily focussed on making powerlifting and strength training more fun with an association, using the fitness facilities of the University. Thereby it is the oldest student strength-sport association in The Netherlands.
What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is a type of training that will make you stronger, fitter, tougher and more toned. You’ll build muscle with a wide range of different exercises. It uses varying degrees of intensity in order to test your body in different ways. CrossFit is perfect for everyone who loves a challenge, gets bored by traditional fitness routines,
enjoys learning new skills and takes pride in their health and fitness. It combines elements of cardio, weightlifting, gymnastics and core training alongside running, swimming and many other disciplines. It is suitable for beginners, advanced, men, women and as supportive or as main sport.
S.K.V. Hercules stands for Studenten Krachtsportvereniging Hercules (Student strength-sport association). Sport will always be the main focus, and we will do that by striving for a positive, motivating and safe environment within the association and our CrossFit gym. This will be supported by lots of a lot of cool activities we organize, which you can join: drinks, bbq’s, workshops, weekend trips, and monthly activities to increase your skills, and get to know other members better.

We our proud to have professional, experienced trainers, as CrossFit is a sport that requires good coaching. Our trainers of CrossFit Twente are, professional, certified and always accessible to provide good coaching. The trainers varies from being a former weightlifting champion, to a winner of the Lowlands Throwdown.
